de la O & Marko Once Again Joins Hands With Easter Seals

De la O and Marko again joined hands with Easter Seals as a sponsor of the Easter Seal's Festival of Chefs held on Thursday, May 12, 2005 from 6-9:30 p.m. at the JW Marriott Hotel Miami.  In its 17th year, the Festival of Chefs benefits Easter Seals Miami-Dade’s Culinary Arts Education & Training program, providing commercial food service training and a high school education to teens 16 to 22 with learning disabilities, cognitive problems, hearing impairments and cerebral palsy, many from underprivileged families.

20 of Miami's top restaurants presented a signature dish to more than 700 guests along with cocktails, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.  A silent and live auction, loaded with amazing items, contributed to the event's success.

Miguel M de la O named "Best of the Bar"

Miguel M. de la O has been named "Best of the Bar" by the South Florida Business Journal.  The South Florida Business Journal partnered with American Document Management and Colonial Bank for its 3rd annual Best of the Bar.  Over 2,000 nominations were sent by South Florida lawyers, a three-panel committee oversaw the nomination process, and a point system concluded the process.
The Best of the Bar features South Florida's most noteworthy attorneys.  The Best of the Bar special section will be inserted into the South Florida Business Journal on April 29, 2005. Honorees featured in the section will also be recognized at a breakfast on April 27, 2005 at the Tower Club in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

Miguel M. de la O - "Boss of the Year"

The Miami Dade Legal Support Association has named managing partner Miguel M. de la O "Boss of the Year" for 2004.  Using a blind system, the three judge panel of Robert Fiore, Esq., President of the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, Cesar L. Alvarez, President and Chief Executive Officer of Greenberg Traurig, and The Honorable Jose E. Martinez, United States District Judge, reviewed all the nominations, which can only be submitted by a member of the MDLSA, and selected Mr. de la O.

The MIami Dade Legal Support Association is an organization established in 1956 whose objective is "to unite all persons employed in work of a legal nature, so that ideas may be exchanged and knowledge increased; to further our members' knowledge of the law, to stimulate a high order of  business and professional attainment; to create a high standard of ethics among our members; to assist and support selected local charitable organizations; and  lastly to further the interests of members through the Florida Association of Legal Support Specialists (FALSS) and assist FALSS in achieving their objective."

Miguel M de la O honored with "Young Hispanic Leadership Award"

The Hispanic Heritage Council , in conjunction with Union Planters , has named  Miguel M. de la O as a recipient of its "Young Hispanic Leadership Award" for 2004.

The Hispanic Heritage Council created the "Young Hispanic Leadership Awards" to honor young Hispanics, 40 years of age or younger, who have distinguished themselves through their professional and entrepreneurial accomplishments and community involvement in South Florida.

The winners are recognized during an awards dinner-ceremony that will be held on September 23rd as an official event of the Hispanic Heritage Festival.  This event is made possible thanks to the support of Union Planters Bank.
