Joel Magolnick quoted in New Story about Child Abuse at Camp Tracey Children’s Home
An employee of a home for troubled youths has been arrested on child abuse charges. Joel Magolnick has previously sued the home, Camp Tracey Children’s Home, on behalf of clients who were sexually abused years ago. With the new arrests bringing attention again to charges of sexual abuse at Camp Tracey over the years, the Florida Times—Union quoted Mr. Magolnick in its story about Camp Tracey. According to the article, “Camp Tracey Children’s Home was started in 1982 by Rev. Wilford McCormick under the auspices of Harvest Baptist Church in Jacksonville.” You can read the news story here.
Dave Barry writes about Joel Magolnick
From Dave Barry Column:
No doubt you also want to know if Jennifer Aniston is beautiful. Yes, she is, although I want to note that so is my wife, who suspects that I volunteered to be in this movie solely so I could hang around Jennifer Aniston, which is not true, as I am a highly trained media professional. On the other hand, my co-extra, Joel [Magolnick], was definitely making flagrant moon eyes at Aniston. So finally I introduced him to her, and they had the following conversation, which I am not making up (bear in mind that Joel is a professional attorney whose job requires great precision with language):
ME: Jennifer, I'd like you to meet Joel.
ANISTON (shaking Joel's hand): Nice to meet you!
JOEL: Urg.
ME: He's in love with you.
ANISTON: Aww.
JOEL: Urg.

Joel Magolnick sues Duquesne University of Behalf of Wounded Basketball Player
Partner Joel Magolnick has filed suit against Duquesne University on behalf of basketball player Stuard Baldonado who was seriously injured when he was shot, along with four other student athletes, on campus following a party in September 2006. The lawsuit alleges that Duquesne's on-campus security was lax, allowing two gunmen to enter the party and later shoot five members of the University's basketball team in the Student Union. The lawsuit alleges that University officials did not take action once they knew of potential criminal activity, and a doorman let two armed men into the dance even after their friend asked if the men would be frisked. "Rather than alerting the campus police who were present inside the ballroom about (the frisking inquiry), or taking other similar reasonable steps, the doorman simply responded that they would not be frisked," and allowed the men to enter, the lawsuit states.
